Tylopur v Cellogen

To Everyone who wants to know the answer to this question.
Q -  What is the difference between Cellogen and Tylopur ?
A - It is a confusing area for all of us, we used to buy the product named Tylopur  i cant remember if it was C1000P every one was happy with it. Tylopur is a brand name and it is also called Tylose and there are different grades of these products as there are also different grades of gum tragacanth. We have tried for years to get Tylopur again in Australia but it is not available,  The product brand name Tylopur is a gum and to the best of our knowledge it is based on  sodium carboxymethyl cellulose. The product we sell is Branded Cellogen F-7A and is a sodium carboxymethyl cellulose.

We sold a lot of Cellogen in our former company and everybody was happy but occasionly someone pops up and says I want nothing but Tylopur c100p. We cant help. Cellogen is a cheaper alternative to Gum Tragacanth .
When Gum Tragacanth is called for in a recipe twice the amount of our cellogen can be used  and in nearly all cases the result is the same.
I hope this can be off assistance and if anyone has any information to add (or even disagree) please contact us. Regards , Jan.
